Bronze Age Warriors - Minoan Part 5

Minoans - Part 5

After taking the summer off from painting I finally managed to finish off another 12 elements of Minoan Pk [X]. These should enable me to field sufficient infantry at 500 AP. This leaves me with the Chariots left to do which I have been putting off as I just cant face them at the moment. Once I get in the mood I will knock them out in batches to avoid another bout of fatigue.

Thats all to blog for now

This brings the painting tally so far for 2022 to
288 foot [84 elements]
9 Feature Pieces [9 elements]
20 Baggage Elements
24 rebased Infantry elements

Christian Nubians Revisited

Christian Nubians under v3.4

With the advent of DBM v3.4 the cost of Irr Cm S has reduced which has allowed me to revise my chosen list slightly.

13 E/13 EE/5 D [25% = 4 EE]

Army

78 E/71.5 EE/36 to Break [400 AP]

The idea of this army design is to give you three mounted commands to concentrate your attack using its mobility whilst the CinC keeps the foot under control out of harm’s way unless you decide you want to attack. I would also DBE all of the warband to half the number of elements that need to be controlled if things get out of hand. The TF keeps enemy mounted honest and the baggage safe. The two largest commands are equal sized to give deployment options.

Terrain options:- the invader only gets to choose a Rv or Rd in phase 1 as you don’t have any H[S], in phase 3 they only get to choose M, D, Rgo or H[G] as theres no H [S].

BHGS Teams 2022

BHGS Teams 2022

This is the 2nd run out of DBM at Picketts Lock Sports Centre. I missed last years event because of  Covid-19 related issues. Its a 15mm Ancients DBM singles tournament. We have managed to get eight players this year which is a good number considering that the weekend after is the Frome Doubles.

The Runners & Riders are as follows & will play each other in pairs for the 1st round as listed below.

The BHGS Teams R&R 1st round draw is as follows:
Dean A - 02/04 Ch'in Chinese 299 BC (MM)
v
Brian A - 02/82 Patrician Roman 466AD (M)
John V - 03/20 Early T'ang Chinese 666AD (MM) (Spooky date!)
v
Andy L - 03/56 Khitan Liao 1121AD (MM)
Tim M - 03/12 Christian Nubian 1276 AD (M)
v
Drew J - 04/36 Late Muslim Indian 1392AD (MM)
Dave M - 04/55 Ottoman 1415AD (MM)
v
John D - 04/43 Late Hungarian 1444AD (M)

So John V is going for the Tang after I used them at Britcon with minimal success. Will be interesting to see what his list is like compared to Dave Madigans design I used at the last minute.
2 x Bk 2
3 x Bk 3
3 x Bk 4
3 x DBM version lists
5 x DBMM version lists
