15mm "Chinese" Army Off EBay Part 5

PROGRESS UPDATE ON THE CHINESE 5

As I blogged yesterday I had nearly finished the latest batch of figures I purchased earlier this year from EBay. The basing was OK if a little tired & I wanted to make them fit in with my own collection a lot more. I had purchased two separate armies from the same person which meant the painting style was identical & I ended up merging & repurposing the various figures into lots of different element types than they originally were being used for.

Today's blog contains 64 infantry elements worth of troops totalling 211 infantry.

Its a mix of elements ranging from Spears, Pikes, Blades, Auxilia, Warband, Archers & Psiloi. The figures can often be used for more than one element type which also helps.

Compared to how they looked in January & May's blog entries I am very pleased with the results.

15mm "Chinese" Army Off EBay Part 4

PROGRESS UPDATE ON THE CHINESE 4

With the lockdown continuing in our house I have been working on the Chinese. I have now rebased another 56 mounted elements totally over 135 figures [double that if you count each mounted figure as two pieces]. I have 64 infantry elements to finish basing up in the next couple of days which will then be blogged.

As far as I can tell they are almost all Essex Miniatures of various codes but I think the large batch of shaved headed Horse Archers are Chariot Miniatures. I have not attempted to identify the codes used.

The actual chariot at the end only came with two horses so I raided my spares box and added in two inner horses to it and put it on a new base. None of the armies I plan to build, Sung, Sui, Tang and Yuan use chariots so its spare and most likely going to be sold on.

I have not retouched any damaged paint yet as I wanted to get them based up first. The figures are as they arrived to me apart from some rearranging of the mix to better create units.
