Just booked my place for Roll Call. I just need to finalise my choice of army for the DBM competition. I have a choice of five possible one. I will decide a bit nearer the time and post the list here after the competition has finished along with the AAR.

DBM At The Challenge

A weekend I would rather forget

The "random" draw pitted me again Jer in the first round. The game can be
summed up as a succession or 1, 2 or 3 on the dice interspiced with a few
rare 6's

I was slowly culling his legionaries down but alas never enough to stop the
31-1 defeat.

The second game was against John's Tudor English, a slightly closer contest
as a result of me changing my dice set but still not much better.

The Sunday saw me facing Ed's Serbians, a combination of his flawed
deployment and my superb mobility saw another losing draw.

The last game was against Chris P's Patricians again but a different version
from the ones from Roll Call.

I was three elements away from breaking his army when last bound was called.
Chris looked at my dice rolling and just could not believe his luck as again
it was a succession of 1's that ruined my chances of victory. I am not a
bean counter but I am guessing that I must have rolled 1's for about 30-35%
of the time in all of my games. So much so that when a 6 turned up we all
looked a bit shocked.

So out of ten entrants I finished 9th.

I am going to Salute next weekend and purchasing some new dice and retiring
these to the bin.
