My Last Game of DBM in the Essex Warriors 2015 Club Competition

Khurosanians v Early Mycenaean

Today was a good day to die. I lost 10 -0 [or 30 - 2] due to a combination of my ally being unreliable - again and a selection of dreadful PIP dice rolls for the first four bounds. I must say I did have some brilliant shooting and combat rolls but it wasn't enough to keep the army together until the ally came on side. Its 1st three PIP rolls were 1, 1 and 3 and I did manage to get a 5 at one stage but most of the time the enemy were too close for me to take advantage of it.

The Mycenaeans were organised as follows:
Cmd 1 Cmd 2 Cmd 3
1 C-in-C, Chariot Kn(F) 1 @ 30 30 1
1-2 Sub-general, Chariot Kn(F) 2 @ 30 60 1 1
6-16 Chariots, Kn(F) … 16 @ 10 160 6 6 4
… or Cv(O) 0 @ 7 0
16-48 Line spearmen - up to half Reg Pk(I) … 12 @ 3 36 6 6
...remainder Reg Pk (X) 12 @ 4 48 6 6
up to 1/2 Line archers, Reg Ps(O) 12 @ 2 24 6 6
4-12 Archers, Irr Ps(O)… 0 @ 2 0
or Irr Bw(I) 6 @ 3 18 6
0-12 Pisidians, Reg Ax(I) 0 @ 2.5 0
0-8 Slingers, Irr Ps(O) 8 @ 2 16 8
0-15 Libyans - up to 1/3 Irr Ps(O) … 0 @ 2 0
… or Irr Bw (I), … 0 @ 3 0
… rest Irr Ps(I) … 8 @ 1 8 8
… or Irr Ax(I) 0 @ 2 0
Total EE: 63 AP: 400 25 25 27
Army BP: 31.5 22 22 19
7.5 7.5 6.5

I managed to destroy 10 Kn F and 3 Ps O by the time my army broke = 18.25% of the enemy army. If it had been in a normal tournament setting the game would have timed out as a 5 -5 draw by the time would have been called. I did enjoy playing the game as it challenged my ability to survive and it also made a difference playing against a DBM Bk 1 army for a change.
