For the sake of completeness I have included the BYE army scores to 

show how well it did in the many and varied hands running it through the weekend.

I am still shell shocked about the appalling run of bad dice luck I had all weekend.

Despite getting the deployment mostly correct, the match ups nearly perfect, 

with no unreliable allies I was still virtually unable to roll better in all the combats

and from what looked like my view point at least half of all my combat dice rolls

appeared to be 1’s in all four games. 

Jer called it catastrophically bad dice rolling the like of which he has 

never seen before.

I thought the army I had chosen had some decent troop types and was 

deserving of mid table mediocrity.

Frontally this army was very tough and it should have managed to punch its way through most armies I faced but it wasnt to be. Perhaps it was divine punishment for using a Papal Army when the Roman Catholic Church stands for everything I dislike about all forms or religion organised or otherwise.

Theres always another day and I will just put it down to experience.

My weekend consisted of me sitting there quietly whilst rolling dice and constantly exclaiming "another 1" when every I rolled my combat dice to the utter amazement of my four opponents and other players who came over to watch my misery. I could not even beat two deep Wb F hard flanked, double overlapped with Reg Sp S in my last game where I rolled four 1's in succession to lose the combats and the whole army in four bounds of play within two hours of starting including set up time.

I still like medieval era armies but I dont think I will be using this one in another tournament unless it is extensively revised in the DBMM v2 army lists, when ever they finally get published.

Caesaromagus 2015 DBM 400 AP Singles Tournament

Caesaromagus 2015 3rd-4th October Writtle Essex

Its the 4th year the BHGS and Essex Warriors have run this tournament to cater for players in the South East. Due to a combination of family issues and military service we are down three entries this year and only have 13 entrants. This means we have a BYE in each round which isn't the best solution.

Because of the BYE and the lack of a late entry it was decided to run a BYE army with players doubling up in each round to run it. The BYE army chosen was Later Carthaginian.

Peter Hockaday will be taking the first BYE game and the person in last place in each subsequent round will play the BYE army and take the actual score achieved using the BHGS 32-0 system for draw purposes unless they have already played a BYE game.

Project Lead Mountain

Not blogged since Iceni

Been concentrating on rebasing figures and clearing Feudal era figures from the 15mm lead mountain. Including finally finishing off some figures I started TWENTY years ago for my Crusader army :-) Done 20 foot with another 16 to do and the Military Orders options will finally be finished.

I will have to paint up some proper 13th C Wedge Knight bases too as currently I am taping together two normal knight bases as a temp solution as my proper wedge elements are really only suitable for the 14th and 15th C. I have had these figures for just as long so its good to finally make a dent in the last box of feudal era figures. A mix of old Gladiator/Blackhat and QRF[Feudals]l/Bloody Day figures which have now been renamed by their new owners.  

Once I have finished the Mil Order foot I will take a break from painting as I must get them all based properly as theres about 100 elements waiting . 

Playing at Caesaromagus next weekend too so thats going to stop me doing much until after its over.

I have just noticed my blog has now had over 10,000 hits including 50% from outside the UK!
